Time Out Market to launch in November

Time Out Market

Good news! Time Out Market Cape Town is opening its doors on November 17, just in time for the summer season – and they’ve got some tasty additions and cultural events in store.

Chef Peter Tempelhoff is teaming up with Chef Shin Takagi to bring a unique sushi concept called Sushiya to Time Out Market Cape Town. It’s all about sustainable, top-notch Japanese sushi with a South African twist. These culinary wizards are all about quality, and you can expect an array of mouth-watering dishes.

But that’s not all – Chef Hitesh Panchal is dishing out Indian street food with a modern spin at Kapoochka. Pani puri, tandoori delights, and even dessert puris are on the menu. It’s a family-run gem that’s been making waves.

Time Out Market Cape Town is more than just food; they’ve got an awesome bar scene and cultural events too. With three bars offering everything from cocktails to craft beer, you’re in for a treat. Plus, there’ll be cultural happenings year-round, including jazz, comedy, and local art.

“Time Out Market Cape Town will bring a new culinary and cultural experience to the city and we can’t wait to open our doors on November 17 – it will be a big celebration of this fantastic city,” says Russ Meyer, General Manager of Time Out Market Cape Town. “The food scene in Cape Town and across South Africa has really evolved in the last few years and we have created this amazing place to present the rich, diverse culinary and cultural vibrancy and the very best home-grown talents. We wanted to make sure that we feature the city’s well-known chefs and award-winning restaurateurs and also give much-loved local gems and up-and-coming talents an opportunity to showcase their expertise. We will be offering guests an experience that is unique yet accessible as we open our doors at the V&A Waterfront as a meaningful addition to this city and our neighbourhood.”

To select the talent and curated mix showcased at Time Out Market Cape Town, the team has trawled the city in search of the best chefs and restaurateurs, and then invited the very best to join the line-up. This curated selection offers an incredible range of local cuisine and in addition to the just-revealed Sushiya and Kapoochka, the following culinary concepts haven been previously announced: Chef Bertus Basson’s De Vrije Burger; MLILO by Chef Vusi Ndlovu; The Melting Pot Seafood by Chef John Van Zyl; Unframed Ice Cream by Yann Rey; Chef duo Matt Van Den Berg and Carla Schulze with How Bao Now; Peter Tempelhoff’s Ramenhead; Chefs Anwar Abdullatief and Yolani Abrahams’s Barakat; Eugene Smith will bring YARD; and Culture Wine Bar by Chef Manning.
