ADVERTORIAL
Human connection through art is a profound and timeless phenomenon that transcends cultural, linguistic, and geographical boundaries. Art serves as a universal language that has the power to evoke emotions, stimulate thoughts, and create a shared understanding among individuals. This connection between people and art is a testament to the human capacity for empathy, imagination, and expression.
Recently a unique opportunity presented itself – a dormant building, soon to become our 17th development, ONE46ONM.
Introducing Art on the Blok, a free-to-visit pop-up gallery in the heart of Sea Point, where creativity meets connection through the powerful medium of art and photography. A bridge that brings people closer, sparks conversations, and fosters a sense of belonging. Located at 146 Main Road, Sea Point, open Friday to Sunday from 9am to 4pm until the end of March 2024.
Art on the Blok unfolds as a canvas for over 30 Cape Town-based artists. This initiative is not just about showcasing art; it’s a concerted effort to uplift the Sea Point community, breathing life into the very fabric of the neighbourhood.
Art has the capacity to transcend barriers, ignite conversations, and create a sense of shared humanity. “Art on the Blok is a place where individuals come together to experience art and connection. These shared experiences create a communal bond, sparking conversations and interactions that might not have occurred otherwise. Art has the power to bridge gaps between diverse groups, fostering understanding and appreciation for different perspectives,” says Jacques van Embden, CEO of Blok.
Visit Art on the Blok to experience the spirit of community, connected urban living and the soon to be, ONE46ONM. Fuel your creative journey with a cup of coffee from our coffee truck stationed outside the gallery, open Tuesday to Sunday.
Come and connect at Art on the Blok.
